What is Hugging Face?
Hugging Face is the GitHub of machine learning. It hosts hundreds of thousands of pre-trained models, datasets, demo spaces, and the `transformers` Python library that makes loading and running them trivial.
For practical engineering: **Hugging Face Hub** hosts models you can download or call via API, **`transformers`** is the library for using them in Python, **`datasets`** standardises dataset loading, **Spaces** lets you ship demos, **Inference Endpoints** is their managed hosting.
For Indian engineers, Hugging Face is the entry point to open-source LLMs (Llama, Mistral, Indic models like Sarvam) and the cheaper alternative to OpenAI / Anthropic API costs at scale.
Hugging Face is where you find Indian-language models, free embedding models, and pre-trained image/audio models. Essential for any ML or Gen AI engineer.
